Over 300 Particpate in Family Cares Day

On Saturday, April 30th just over 300 community members turned out for the 14th annual Family Cares Day. Sponsored by S.C.I.O. Cares, Family Cares Day is a time for families to connect with their neighbors and community at an alcohol, tobacco and other drug-free event. This year several partnering agencies worked together to provide fun and educational activities for the entire family. In addition to a free community barbeque, families were invited to participate in a variety of activities including: a safety presentation by Pacific Power, family portraits, face painting, a petting zoo, a bicycle safety rodeo, Bingo, cake walks and many more.

Kids gathered around the activity table sponsored by Linn County Alcohol & Drug Program to make Family Conversation starters. A positive activity for families designed to encourage fun conversations around the dinner table.

Bringing Up Learning and Behavior in Lebanon

Lebanon’s Communities that Care has sponsored the B.U.L.B. (“Bringing Up Learning and Behavior”) Youth Recognition Program for three years. Each month, five middle school students per month are honored at a breakfast attended by local dignitaries. The youth receive a framed certificate, group photo, and prizes donated by local businesses.
